Without a Spot or Wrinkle

Hello Again!
So…how many of us have been in a service and heard the phrases “You have to be pure to stand before God!” Or “God is going to come back for a church Without a spot or a wrinkle!” And you start to think of all of the wrong that you’ve done, and how you are unworthy to stand before God. You think that there is NO Way you can ever be in Gods presence because of all of the things that you’ve done. You think “well, I definitely have a few spots and more than one wrinkle!” Maybe it’s just me, but when I heard those scriptures I would begin to feel condemned. (Forgetting that there is NO condemnation for those who are IN Christ. Roman 8:1).  It wasn’t until recently reflecting on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus that I asked the question…

How can I be ready without a spot or a wrinkle? We should first understand these things:

1: YOU cannot accomplish anything trying to clean and press out (lol) yourself.
-More so than not, we think that we need to have something together, before we come to God.  NOT TRUE!!!! Let me say this as well…We hear people tell us (or to keep it real, hear People say ABOUT us) “they just need to get their life together.” So you begin to try to cleanse yourself instead of going to the one that can wash you…and fail over and over again.
2: You do not possess the power, or have the capacity to try and save yourself.
-Paul says: “I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord…” (Romans 7:21, 24, 25 NLT)”
3: You will never be able to stand before God without a spot or wrinkle…without the blood of Jesus covering you.
-That’s the key, the blood of Jesus. The only reason the Israelites were able to survive the plagues of the death of their first born sons was because of the blood of the sacrifice that was on the door of their houses.  DEATH had to pass over them when it saw the blood.  (Exodus 12)
-Your body is a TEMPLE in which the Holy Spirit lives , when you accept Jesus there is a blood of sacrifice that is put on the door of your temple.  His blood is applied to your door. To your life. The plagues have to pass over. ( see notes from exodus)
-The blood of Jesus WASHES, And CLEANSES. Jesus was a man that never sinned, he was perfect, pure, Holy, Set Apart. He was love, he was WITHOUT a spot or wrinkle.  When HIS blood COVERS us, God only sees him, and we are without spot or wrinkle.
