I was just thinking on Saturday…and realized…well maybe i should say “grasped”
lol. I grasped the fact that not only did Jesus come to be the sacrifice, but God came down to identify with us. He came to show that he can relate. He wanted a relationship with us so bad. We can’t be in a relationship or feel comfortable with someone who we think cannot relate with us. We wont feel safe, or be at ease with someone who can’t identify with us…and so God, God. The creator of the world wrapped himself in flesh and walked the earth and went through everyday issues of not being understood and things of human life…to become the sacrifice that he needed so that we would be reconciled to him. HE UNDERSTANDS!
Hebrews 11 talks about how we have a “cloud of witnesses” cheering us on…Jesus is in that number… Lol, sorry I thought of an old song. Anyway, Jesus is apart of those witnesses, and the chapter basically speaks about running the race knowing that people are cheering you on, and how to run without giving up. Check this out, 12 started out like this
We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin. (Hebrews 12:2-4 NLT)
