Speaking To Purpose

I was talking to a friend today, and we touched on accountability at the end of our conversation.  I started recalling the beginning of a few friendships and my relationship and thought of a sermon that I heard while on tour in Mississippi.  During the sermon the speaker referenced Luke 1: 39-44 (I’ll post it below).  In this passage Mary had just finished talking to God about how she would be pregnant with Jesus even though she was a virgin.  She then went to visit Elizabeth who was supposed to be barren and was also pregnant, and when they encountered one another and Mary greeted her the child in Elizabeth jumped for Joy.  So the Speaker made a point that we as Christians needed to be around others who “make our babies jump.”  We need to be around those who know who we are in God, those who SPEAK into our lives and give LIFE to what’s inside of us.  Looking at this scripture I find it interesting that Elizabeth was supposed to be barren.  A lot of times we look at what we used to be and even though we know that God has brought life back to a barren place we still sometimes doubt that it can bring forth fruit.  We need people who can come around us, and their purpose will speak to our purpose and make what’s inside of us LEAP to let us know to keep going!!! All of this to say: Know who your CORE is, Know who’s ordained and purposed to be in your life, and Know that those people will be the people that keep you accountable to where God is calling you!

(39 A few days later Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea, to the town40 where Zechariah lived. She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth. 41 At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

42 Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, “God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed. 43 Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? 44 When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. )
